Founding Yellow Seconds
Hi, I'm Jesse, a vintage watch collector obsessed with the hunt for timeless, accessible vintage watches with character.
To me, the thrill isn't just owning a watch - it's finding it. Discovering an overlooked Omega, a funky Seiko, an underrated IWC, or any vintage piece that makes me stop and think: that's cool.
The funny thing is... I can't keep them all. That's why I started Yellow Seconds. It's my way of sharing the watches I fall in love with and inviting others to discover why vintage is so special. I genuinely believe that most things in life don't have to be brand new. Buying a second-hand item with a story is just way more fun.
My number one watch hunting rule? If I would proudly wear it myself, it deserves a place at Yellow Seconds – and that includes a high standard when it comes to authenticity and quality by the way.
If you're looking for a specific watch, let me know. If you're thinking about selling a watch that deserves a new wrist, I'd love to hear from you. If you just want to talk watches – hit me up and let's enjoy talking watches together.
I hope you'll join me on this journey and I hope to gradually convince you that vintage watches are just.
Why "Yellow Seconds"?
Yellow is inspired by the way time leaves its mark on vintage objects. Old newspapers, books, photographs and of course vintage watches have elements that turn yellow over time. Over the years, the luminous material (most often tritium) on many vintage watch dials develops a warm yellow or cream-coloured patina. It's one of the details watch collectors love most because it tells a story that simply can't be recreated overnight.
Seconds has two meanings too. It represents second-hand, giving used watches another chance to be worn and appreciated. And, of course, it represents seconds: the passing of time itself. Every vintage watch has already measured countless seconds, and with a new owner, countless more are still to come.
